Day 2- plazas and chocolate

Today was jam packed with some quality sight-seeing in the city center, not to mention the sightings of more making-out couples than we could have ever hoped for.

Above are shots from San Martin park and plaza- where people come on their lunch breaks to snooze, eat and of course make-out. There's some shots of an avenue called Julio that has 20 lanes and several large medians- with great red polka dots on the intersections.

There's some pics along Florida street, a pedestrian only walkway with very high end stores. Late at night, along another wide and historic boulevard, Alvear, we saw a band playing on the street with a big crowd watching, giving money and dancing. An interesting mix of people in business clothes and punk rock kids. A couple pics are from a great Thai place we found last night owned by a very friendly American guy who gave us lots of advice about where to go- including Tigre- the "Venice of Argentina," a 45 minute train ride from BA. He also suggested this great bottle of wine- it was one of the most expensive on the menu- it set us back about $13. So far our large meals are setting us back about $30- total.

We also saw a fantastic contemporary ballet. Three acts, amazing dancers, set designs and music. Lots of the theatre here is subsidized by the government so we paid almost nothing. It was a gorgeous old theatre too, like everything here.

Oh, almost forgot- check out that chocolate shop. Neysa almost had a heart attack when this friendly costumed woman started putting together a bag of assorted goodness for us. We started cramming the truffles into our mouths as soon as we got into the street. Some other don't miss pics include doggie day care in the park, and the very best make-out shot, a couple totally lockin lips next to a group of construction workers in bight orange jackets. Neither group seemed to mind the other...
